Summer transfers for arsenal
Arsenal is one of the most exiting teams this season, a young team looking for champions league next year. To be able to fight in the top some new faces could be crucial. I personally think the wingers, centre backs, left backs and goalkeepers is good enough. I will be looking into 5 transfers Arsenal should make this summer. I have also tried to not go for the players they are currently rumoured to be interested in.
Yves Bissouma
The position I will begin with is two midfielders, Arsenal have been looking for a good player for a long time. The first player is Yves Bissouma, 25 years old from Mali currently at Brighton & Hove Albion. Bissouma is an exciting defensive midfielder that is ready for the big move. He is strong and fast player that is defensive solid. He is also a player that can drive up the field with the ball and would fit perfectly at Arsenal. Yves has been one of the best players for the Brighton team since he arrived in 2018. He is some of the reason they have not gone down. This summer Brighton is also tempted to sell him because his contract expires summer 2023, and his value of €35 million will only drop. Selling him now for a discount is probably better than losing him for free. Bissouma have been linked to Manchester United so get him in before someone else.
Ilaix Moriba
The second midfielder is probably a surprise to many because off his lack of minutes and out of favour at his original club. I’m talking about Ilaix Moriba from RB Leipzig. Moriba is currently out on loan at Valencia CF and Leipzig is ready to sell him now in the summer. RB Leipzig splashed €16 million to sign Ilaix from Barcelona summer 2021 but sent him out on loan to Valencia CF now during the January transfer window. Moriba have played good at Valencia, and I think Arsenal should take a chance on him. Ilaix Moriba is not part of RB Leipzig’s plans for next season and RB Leipzig is probably ready to take a loss on him. Ilaix Moriba is still only 19 with market value of €10 million a bargain of a player. He is a very physical player at 1,85 tall, that is good with the ball. Moriba was a part of La Masia where the focus is on teamwork, passing and letting the ball do the job. Ilaix is a technical player as well with a good drive on the ball, a good passer something that Arsenal could need in the team. Take a chance on him and maybe it pays off.
Sergiño Dest
Another position that Arsenal need is another right back. A place where Arsenal maybe needs a backup to Tomiyasu, Cedric is not Champions League quality in my opinion. My suggestion is an offensive right back that wants to attack, a different type. I think Sergiño Dest would be perfect with his pace and offensive attributes being his strength. Dest is not playing enough at FC Barcelona, and with Noussair Mazraoui rumoured to move this summer Dest will be number 3 maybe number 4 in the peaking order. This makes a transfer very likely for the American 21-year-old this summer. Arsenal could need a good backup if they qualify for Champions League and more important games follows. Sergiño Dest’s market value is €18 million and with FC Barcelona in a financial crisis they will most likely accept less. Barcelona needs all the money they can get and Dest is one of the players they accept selling. Arsenal could need a right back and FC Barcelona need the money, a good deal for both.
Memphis Depay
Arsenal needs a new striker after the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and Alexandre Lacazette out of contract this summer. It’s been talking a lot about different players like Lautaro Martínez, Jonathan David and Darwin Nunez who is probably the perfect candidate. I will bring Memphis Depay into the mix of their new striker. Depay is a flexible player that can play striker and on both wings. This gives Arsenal an opportunity to sign another striker and Memphis on the side. He is also in the same situation as Sergiño Dest with he could be sold to fund Barcelona’s summer plans. Depay was amazing at Lyon and in the beginning at Barcelona, but now is out of favour. This is because of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that Arsenal sold have been phenomenal. Depay is maybe looking for a way out now that Xavi got the job after Koeman’s sacking. Memphis Depay is fast and good on the ball as well as a hard-working player. Memphis is a player that is a mix of Aubameyang and Lacazette, a finisher and a work machine. Arsenal is right now on the way to Champions League with Lacazette as a key player. The only problem he doesn’t score enough, but I think Depay almost have the same work rate only more goals. What more do you need, a player that fits in to the current system that works? Market value of €45 million, and after a free transfer last summer FC Barcelona is maybe tempted to sell him for something in between to get a profit.
Youssoufa Moukoko
The last one I want to talk about is the 17-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko. The future superstar of Germany and one of the best youngsters in the world. Moukoko was the youngest player to get his debut in Bundesliga. He was going to be the future of Borussia Dortmund but after some injuries he have fallen down the peaking order. Borussia Dortmund is getting ready for this summer where Erling Braut Haaland is leaving, and they are looking at Karim Adeyemi from Red Bull Salzburg as a replacement. Some sources are also writing about the departure of Youssoufa Moukoko. He is a young player with market value of €15.00 million and Dortmund want to invest the money in new players. After all the injuries why should Arsenal sign him? In my opinion he has the potential to something special and the risk is their but worth it. He will be a good player in the future and €15.00 million is a bargain.
